Its furnished living quarters are attached to the west barn and stables of the 50 acre Herold Ranch in Alto Pass. A stall and corral are also available for rent if you want to bring your horse with you. The rental includes a full kitchen (cook your own meals) with an outdoor patio and BBQ, and sleeps up to seven people. The TV comes with VCR and DVD player, and lots of western movies. The kitchen is fully furnished with coffee service, microwave, stove/oven, toaster, blender, pots and pans, dishes and utensils and other basic kitchen items. Bottled water and frozen breakfast rolls are also available for the convenience of the guests. The Stablehouse is on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail in Alto Pass, a small historic village located in the Shawnee National Forest and Southern Illinois Ozarks, 15 miles south of Carbondale, IL and midway between St. Louis, MO and Nashville, TN.
